But the renovation was not only about beauty. Behind the plans stood the Black Designer, who used the restoration works to slip the Eagle’s eyes into façades, stained-glass windows, and ornaments. At first, they seemed like simple decorative details. In reality, they form a network through which the Black Eagle can see every movement, every chosen path, and every secret of the city. The Black Designer’s plan was clear: whoever sees everything can control everything. Step by step, Oradea was meant to become a city guided from the shadows, where people believe they are choosing for themselves, while their paths have already been decided. An architect uncovered the truth hidden in the renovation sketches. Knowing he could not stop it directly, he left clues in the restored places — a secret path through which the Eagle’s eyes can be shut.
